The Kansas City Chiefs won't have the services of starting left tackle Josh Simmons for the third week in a row. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt provided an update on Simmons, who is currently dealing with a family matter.
On Friday, ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported that the Chiefs were hopeful Simmons could return to the team during the team’s bye week. That bye week comes in Week 10, meaning Simmons would miss a Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills before returning to possibly be back in action for a Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos.
Andy Reid said Simmons is "taking care of family" and in communication with the team. The rookie could return at some point this season.
