49ers starting quarterback Brock Purdy remained a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. He was limited all of last week and ruled out against the Falcons. Purdy, who has turf toe, has not had a full practice since Sept. 26.
Practice availability can sometimes serve as guidance, meaning the expectation is that Purdy will continue to practice ahead of Week 8. It's unknown how much will be enough to get the Niners starter back to game action. In the meantime, Jones continues to fill admirably for San Francisco, leading the team to a 3-1 record in four starts.
