White House demolition is well underway as part of President Donald Trump 's plan to construct a new ballroom in the East Wing 's place.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he endorsed President Donald Trump demolishing the East Wing of the White House to build a $300 million, 90,000-square-foot ballroom.

“It's shocking — you don't have to have had anything to do with the White House,” said Cooper, a Woodbridge resident and the former curator of American painting and sculpture at the Yale Art Gallery.
