People gathered in Chicago and the suburbs Saturday for a "No Kings" protest amid ongoing federal immigration enforcement operations in the area.
Protesters turned out at roughly 2,700 rallies around the country to celebrate free speech and protest many of the Trump administration's actions.
Speaking at a "No Kings" rally in Washington, D.C., Bill Nye, the former host of "Bill Nye the Science Guy," urged lawmakers to “stop the abuses of this petulant president [Trump] and his circle of sycophants,” declaring, “No thrones, no crowns, no kings."
Many Americans feel Trump’s threats and norm-shattering actions have only gotten more intense as protesters prepare to take part Saturday in more than 2,700 ‘No Kings’ demonstrations scheduled across the country.
Demonstrators across the U.S. took to the streets on Saturday as part of a nationwide No Kings rally to protest the policies of the Trump Administration. The demonstrations are part of a larger No Kings movement that emerged in a first wave of protests last June.
