The Spanish league says plans for Barcelona to play a regular-season game against Villarreal outside Miami in December have been called off.

La Liga president Javier Tebas didn’t explicitly name Real Madrid during a lengthy social media post lamenting the cancelation of the Miami-based league fixture between Villarreal and Barcelona, but didn’t deploy much subtlety when accusing certain forces of “killing the project.”

For a second straight day, protests by La Liga players against the league’s decision to stage a regular season game between Barcelona and Villarreal in Miami in December have been either censored or not fully broadcast for television audiences.
